Holidays in Randa near Zermatt
The idyllic mountain village in the Matter valley
Randa is the ideal place for nature-oriented visitors and those who enjoy peace and quiet but also want to make the most of everything Zermatt has to offer – an ideal holiday destination for families. With around 500 residents, Randa is the original village in the Zermatt-Matterhorn resort and – as home to the Dom, Switzerland’s highest mountain, as well as the Weisshorn – is proud of its mountaineering tradition. With four mountain lodges in upper Randa, one of which is the well-known Europa Hut, and an optimally designed network of walking trails, you can experience the mountain summer in all its sublime tranquility and beauty. In the valley, visitors can enjoy a game of golf on the 9-hole course between Randa and Täsch or leave all their worries behind in Schalisee. The Vita course offers sports enthusiasts another perfect opportunity to keep fit and children can let off as much steam as they like in the play park. Randa also has plenty to offer during the winter. You can either hit the the perfectly maintained Matterhorn slopes or head up on the small beginners ski tow for your first attempt at skiing. Visitors can also enjoy the natural ice rink. Like the village of Täsch, Randa is also accessible to traffic, although this doesn’t make the location any less idyllic and it is still very quiet. You can reach the world-class spa resort of Zermatt in just 15 minutes on the Matterhorn Gotthard train.
